Thank you so much for the really useful information. I have been pulling my hair out as my new laser printer is not giving me a good gel print. Wondering if they have changed the toner since I had my last one about 20 years ago 😁 I will look at the Notanlzer for adjusting the contrast.

Also I searched for the brand of spray here in the US but I only found matt so I'm trying Krylon K01375000 Gallery Series UV Archival Varnish Aerosol Spray, Gloss... Love the video. I have tried for hours to get a magazine image to work. What happens a lot is the paint goes onto the magazine image and no image on plate. So frustrating. I am doing everything in the video. What is happening?

I believe this would also works with your own photos, printed in very high contrast black and white, on a laser printer (an inkjet print runs when it gets wet).

Great tutorial. Fascinating. Am I right in thinking that the dark areas of the original image only absorb some of the paint and so leave paint behind on the gel plate, but the lighter areas on the original are able to absorb all the ink from the gel plate. This would explain why the amount of paint to start with is critical.

I congratulate you, I like what you do. I have tried to do it with a photo and I have not been able to achieve it. I'm using the same paints as yours and I do everything the same and it doesn't work out... I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've been practicing for part of the afternoon and I haven't been able to. I'll try it again tomorrow.😢

I’ve been trying this for two days, nothing but frustration. Can you tell us EXACTLY what ink and paper you are using?

Your images are amazing! I am not having much luck with my transfers I am using Liquitex basic acrylic fluid paint. The paints tend to bead up and disappear from the surface. I conditioned my 8 x 10 with some baby oil. Still doesn't work. I tried my 8 x 8 and it is a little better. I cannot seem to get a nice even coat like you do. Are you using a Gelli brand plate? Thanks
